Our TD2 trap dividers are highly recommended for this cat trap. They go through the top of the trap pinning the cat in while the front or rear door is open for cleaning while cat is in trap. Vets love them because the can pin the cat to the side and give injections without removing the cat. We also have trap covers that are the same color of the traps, brown light weight pack cloth. They are water resistant, easy to clean, helps feral cats settle down, put them on before trapping. Helps catch those hard to catch cats. You can transfer cat with cover on.

| The Difference Between a 30LTD and 30D |
| The 30D is a heavier weight trap, actual weight is 12 pounds. It is for heavy usage such as city animal control services that use them every day and toss them in the back of trucks, etc. Also for humane societies, shelters, police departments, etc. that lend the traps out to the public. They withstand more abuse and heavy usage much better than the 30LTD. Both are the same size, both have the rear door. The 30D has 4 support rods that run the length of the trap on all 4 edges, the 30LTD has 2 support rods. One runs the length of the trap on the upper left side and the other is on the bottom right side, the other 2 edges are rounded wire. The 30LTD weighs 8 pounds and is great for moderate rescue work and residential use as it's not as heavy to carry after the animal is in the trap. Both have the same five year warranty against animal damage. If you feel that there's a good chance that you might catch a raccoon, we recommend the 30D, a trapped raccoon can tear a trap up if left too long. |
| Design of the Tru-Catch Trap |
| Tru-Catch traps were originally designed with a front trap door only as a gravity catch and release trap. The trapper would take the unwanted animal to new location to live, set the trap on the ground and roll the trap over onto its top releasing the animal. Tru-Catch traps do not have a locking system for the trap door that holds it in place. They are a gravity trap, only spring loaded (dangerous) traps have a locking device. Tru-Catch still maintains their original design but have since added rear doors for easier removal of animal, easy transferring animal and easy baiting the trap. You can lift the rear door, place the bait behind the trigger and close, no need to reach through the length of the trap to place bait. The release principal of rolling the trap remains the same. If you are transferring a trapped animal in the back seat of a car and have to stop suddenly, the trap could roll over accidentally releasing the animal and you would have a wild cat in the car with you. In order to prevent an accidental release you can use snap rings, such as at those found at the end of a dog leash, to fasten the trap door to the frame. Keep the snap rings fastened to the trap for future usage. You can also use them to clip the rear door of the trap to the matching carrier to prevent a wild feral from knocking the trap and carrier apart during the transfer process. |
